I heard on the internet that Vista is bad. The internet is true.Originally posted by Tx Redneck View PostI've had zero issues with performance out of Vista since SP2.
Would yall care to explain your issues w/ it?
/argument
I never had any problems with Vista - I upgraded because it was free to do so. One of the guys I work with put Vista on my old netbook(now his) and he hasn't had any problems. That's been running for a year now..

I haven't had any experience with it, I just think it's funny he'd want that on a tablet when half of its features would go unused, and when Windows 7 is about a year and a half post-release.Originally posted by Tx Redneck View PostWould yall care to explain your issues w/ it?Originally posted by BroncojohnnyHOORAY ME and FUCK YOU!

I actually meant Windows 7... My Bad... I was multi-tasking at the time...Originally posted by That_Is_My_El_Camino View PostVista? You mean Windows Vista?
The point is, I would want it to be productive for work, run office apps, presentations, be compatible with all the crap that will hook up to the USB port.... as well as all the gadgety shit it already does... without a contract from fucking Verizon....

well, nothing really wrong with the ipad depending on the needs of the user.Originally posted by Mach1 View PostI'm going for the $499 ipad 2 (flame suit on)
i just think an android tablet *could* be better. personally for me to want a tablet, it should be more in-between a computer and a phone.
the ipad is a closed off, but their closed off little world is quite big.www.hppmotorsports.com

Netbooks have lots of limitations via hardware\OS\software, aren't as user friendly as the touch screen interfaces of an IPad or Xoom and current tablet PCs are too expensive, bulky, and aren't quite "there" yet....Originally posted by That_Is_My_El_Camino View PostSo...you want a netbook?
Most of the people I work with are like me.... they like the form factor and interface of a tablet, but like the compatibility, resources and power of a standard laptop.
When the 2 finally merge... and it will happen.... I'd pay a good price for one...

Has anyone on here bought one of the Android tablets on Amazon? They start around $150-200 depending on size. For the most part, they look like ipad knock-offs(even the names - iped, apad, epad, superpad).
Archos is really the only brand I semi-recognize out of the Android tablets on Amazon.
After some of the classes I've been taking for our automation/control products(and since I now have an Android phone), I may pick one up to see if it is marketable to our customers. That being said, the ipad is probably still the best option for those that don't want/need to think about what they're doing or for those that need Apple to protect them from themselves..

I'd be game for a android powered tablet but they all run like shit IMO, maybe not the xoom so much but they piss me off like Windows 95 used to. After I had the user experience on a ipad I was sold.Interested in being a VIP member and donating to the site? Click here http://dfwmustangs.net/forums/payments.php

I used an archos with both win7 and android.
Win7 was balls slow and had no business being a tablet os.
Android (early 2.x) was okay, just a bit clunky.
I'm guessing it's going to be much better in 1 year since honeycomb is their first tablet os and it will take some time for the market to develop.www.hppmotorsports.com
