Evidently Prometheus ties in with Serenity, or at least happens in the same universe.

or perhaps Predators hunted them too? perhaps the xenomorph may have been their experimental bio-weapon to destroy the Predator threat?

Remember, there are two "races" of Predator to deal with...the "hunters" and the "killers". (The "killers" were introduced in "Predators"....and in the comics they have xenomorphs somewhat domesticated so they can use them as a hunting dog of some sort).

Saw it yesterday in IMAX 3D. Cinematography was impressive, loved the fact that they didn't overdue the 3D and it really added to the movie. I thought the story could have been stronger and left me with a lot of questions. Sure seems like this was setup for a sequel so it'll be interesting to see what Ridley Scott does next.

Because it wasnt really about them at all. It was about the engineers and them toying with genetic manipulation.

Just saw it today. Overall I loved it, but it left me wanting more. Also could have done better on the feeling of dread that the first one had.

I read somewhere that Scott said that all movies after Alien 3 have no connection, in his mind, to the Alien "universe". I also remember something about Prometheus was written with the intention of having more sequels and distance itself somewhat from the Alien franchise.

I didn't like (white text spoiler):

Shaw and David find a ship and fly away was too much, IMO. They should've ended it where they go looking for a ship. Just enough to leave the audience with questions and not a flat out "Hey, come see Prometheus 2".

Otherwise, I really liked the movie.

I found this wonderful information on the mural that was briefly shown:

Prometheus Forum is a fan community dedicated to Ridley Scott's Prometheus series, including Alien Covenant and Prometheus 3

I always loved the end of that line.
