Just got back from seeing it. Definitely the best sci-fi movie I've seen in a while. The 3D was also done very well. No shit flying at the camera. Just gave the setting a lot of depth. I enjoyed the hell out of it. There's some really fucked up shit in the movie too. One scene in particuliar had me cringing.

I think people expected this movie to follow in the footsteps of the Alien franchise. Ridley Scott has said it is more about the essence of what Alien was and about questions left unanswered. I'm stoked about this even with all the mixed reviews I've read.

I heard one reviewer say it could have been a little better without the references to Alien in it. But overall they said it was a solid movie.

UK Launch was last weekend, appears quite a few people have mixed reviews on it. Looks like it might be a little disappointing, but also it could just be bitter ridley scott clingers wishing it was the best movie ever. Averaging 7.9/10 right now on IMDB, which is still very high.
