What prompted it was reading a new Gary Oldman interview in Playboy, where he said the scene where he screams that was really just a prank to make Luc laugh, and ended up in the finished product.

I think he had just done "True Romance" (playing that very nasty white pimp), then this. The guy is awesome.

True Romance doesn't get enough credit either. He was fucking hilarious as that pimp, not even to mention The Sicilian Scene about 10 minutes after the pimp scene with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper. That movie is absolutely CRAMMED with awesome actors.

Stanfield's 3rd man Benny aims his SIG-Sauer P226 fitted with a laser. The actor who played Benny, Keith A. Glascoe, was also a real life NYC Firefighter. He died rescuing people from the South Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.

I always thought Oldman made 5th Element a good movie. It would have sucked without him. IMO.

He plays a good asshole. Which is why its weird seeing him as Gordon in Batman

Ya I read that a while back. I love reading the trivia for movies I like and thought that was an interesting tidbit. I even had to look up the guy to job my memory as to who he was since (I believe) IMDB didn't have a picture of him. I can't think of what network it is (FX maybe?) that puts movie trivia tidbits on the screen while the movie is playing. If it's a movie that I've seen plenty of times, this usually makes it a little more interesting for me.
