Just an example, 9mm Corbon DPX has 399lb/lbs and the .40 has 448ft/lbs. But doesn't the higher velocity of the 9mm improve the shock to tissue/organs and make stopping power closer then the energy numbers lead to believe.

Energy is energy. A lighter bullet will move faster, but a heavier bullet will retain better energy. Ultimately, we're talking .045 difference in bullet diameter. I'll take the 10-20% increase in energy, with a bigger hole over another round or two in the magazine if we're talking a polymer gun. The big compromise is when you have to decide whether or not the much larger .45 is worth the compromise, losing a further 3-5 rounds.

I'm pretty sure the ft/lb number takes complete consideration of the velocity of the round. i.e. if your round was sitting still, it would have X ft/lbs, X=weight of the bullet.

Yup, it's just mass x velocity. I'm probably just overthinking this as usual.

Not exactly. mass x velocity is momentum. Muzzle energy is calculated by the formula E=mv^2/450400 for the imperial system and E=mv^2/2000 for the metric system. Either way if it's sitting still there is no muzzle energy because velocity is 0.

Good for them. I hope they have so much business she is forced to convert the rest of the space behind them into more ranges. The gal that owns the place is super cool and has a good business model. Their staff is unlike any other range I have ever been to.

I will be up there on the 7th or 8th. I live right down the street. I don't claim to be a gun ninja but I can hit my marks just fine. I usually have a bag of guns, so you can try out a few others too.

Sure glad my wife does not read this board so here it goes. That asian looking chick makes my bell rope tingle. Then to see her in a pair of 5.11 cargo pants just makes it worse. Her ass actually looks good in them.
