300 lumen @ under 50 bucks. This is a nice product and the price is a steal.

I have a streamlight stinger, stinger hp two streamlight pen lights and the new knucklehead . and for all the techs out there the knucklehead is by far the best work light ever offered on any tool truck.

I use that thing almost daily in my room to keep from turning overhead lights on and waking my neighbors. Hell I even bought my wife one for her to use in the house. They have the slide over red lense that allows me to read without disturbing other people and are totally hands free.

Now I still use Streamlights TLR1s for my home defense guns and I have other surefires stashed throughout the house. G3s are good, cheap, handy and bright enough for inside the house work.

One of my guys found a Sure fire M2 Beam light with IR cover and mount in the burn pit a few weeks ago. Probably a $3,000 flash light and mount but without the external batteries and cables; useless.
Same here, for most activities I prefer using my headlamp. When I go camping it's one of the first things I pack. When I cookout at night I prefer using it over other light sources I have near my grill. I own a couple of these Streamlight headlamps, picked them up for roughly $20 and they run off of two CR123 batteries. Has three settings and the low is good for pretty much any close up duties and will last for a long time (Streamlight rates it at 30 hours).

I ordered from 3 different places, 2 of which are out of the country. On top of that there is one piece that has to be custom made and a mod to another piece of the stock flashlight. It is not just plug and play stuff as the entire guts of the light will be replaced or worked over. Its not nearly as complicated as it sounds but there is some level of craftsmanship that needs to be paid to get it right. I will post up all details in a new thread in a week or so after I get them all together tested out.

The lite will have 3 power settings, on high it will last for 3.5 hours continuous use and on low it would go for near 14 hours straight @ over 300 lumen. (these cells are bad ass) I am going to do a write up in this forum when its done if anyone is interested with side by side video compairson of a stock mag lite and a couple other tactical lights that are high output. This thing should be a real blinder and a good way to throw someone off for a few seconds if you really needed it.

You are right. After I had a chance to play with some lights that are putting out around 1000 lumen and higher everything else looks dim.

I'm a flashlight junkie as well and my collection is of mostly Surefire Flashlights. Nice quality lights that are on the expensive side but the quality can't be beat and they have excellent customer service. I have/had owned a Surefire L1, E1B, 6P, G2, U2, LED Mini Mag, Streamlight Scorpion, a few different Streamlight head lamps, and my latest is this Fenix PD10.

I really dig the Fenix PD10. It's a single cell CR123 flashlight with three brightness modes. It's very simple and very small. On and off and brightness modes are controlled by simply twisting the head which also gives you access to the battery. I prefer CR123 battery flashlight as they have a longer runtime than most others and are very powerfull and bright flashlights. The PD10 is barely bigger than the battery itself and I compare it to a Surefire L1 which is almost double the size. To save money I use recharageable CR123's.

I've got a Surefire G2 that I upgraded to a LED with a P60L change out. Surefire quit making them, but you can find a few. There's tons of clones out there, too.
