Just let him shoot a .22 wheelgun for now if that's what he wants. Bearcat/Single Six, FTW.

Get a .22 revolver. If he ends up a "gun guy", he'll have it forever.Originally posted by petyweestraw View PostTalking to him he held it and said he'd try it but feels better if it was smaller. Said mine is cool but really wants his first gun to be a revolver. Said he thinks they are beautiful guns. I almost teared up hearing him talk like that lol. He may end up a wheel gun Guy. So Xmas is coming and his B-day is in January. Gonna be renting small caliber wheel guns to see what's the largest he can handle. Or just get a nice 22. Other than that what other size ammo is cheap and readily available?

Nothing wrong with a first gun being a .22, hell when you want to work on your trigger discipline, what gun do you reach for? The biggest thing you can manage without curling up in the fetal position all teary-eyed, or the one thats easily manageable so you can find your flaws? Get something so he can learn gun fundamentals without being scared shitless every time it goes bang. And with the wheelgun you can take it a step further and skip a cylinder or two to see if he jerks the trigger.Originally posted by ThreeFingerPete View PostGet a .22 revolver.
