As soon as I saw the picture I thought the same thing (about the color).
Glad you got it worked out though. It's a really nice safe.

As long as DiAnn behaves, she can keep looking at the safe from the outside.

If she misbehaves, you can throw a chair in there and she will have a nice place to sit!

kbs, although I don't care for a store's name on the front of it - it is a very slick looking safe. That paint is nice.

Anyone with personal experience on how a Canon differs in quality to a Liberty? I have a Canon that I am happy with, but I have been curious about the Liberty safes ( I am about to outgrow my Canon and may need to upgrade soon or just buy a second safe).

Between the knuckle heads at the Cabella's customer service counter and their wharehouse, the wrong safe was given to the delivery guys.

I feel so sorry for them. Luckily they were still backing up to the back porch when I noticed. We called Cabella's and they had my name on two safes; the one I originally purchased and the better one I upgraded to yesterday. Too bad they didn't bring them both. lol

If staying on the same floor a smaller 750 pounds safe can be done with one person. A 30, 40, 50 gun safe that weights a 1000 or so needs two. Mostly to get it tilted on an appliance cart. (my wife and I move my 1000 pound safe, I just can't get it tilted w/o her help)

My moves involve small steps and such. Now moving those bitches up/down flights of stairs - I'd pay some SOBs to do that. I lost control of my 1000 pound safe once and thankfully it tilted/slipped AWAY from me. After that I learned to just make sure the balance is away, just in case.

Also, for those putting them in the basement - remember basements can and do flood. It maybe a little or a fair amount depending on the reason for flooding and if do/don't have a sump pump/pump failure...etc A lot of the safes come on a set of steel rails/legs...whatever. I'd leave them on it or otherwise elevate 6+ inches.

My safe is not waterproof at all - are the others in the normal price ranges?

Haha......yes, since it wasn't to be deilivered until tomorrow I traded up ALREADY. I paid a few extra bucks for the 50th anniversary model that just went on sale. Better finish, better door pockets, more shelves, plus a lightkit and dehumidifier (sp?).

Deliver tomorrow is gonna be a great day.

It took 3 guys my size or bigger to get my Heritage safe into my house.

72" tall, 40" wide, and 28" deep weighing around 1,000 lbs empty.

It was like wrestling Andre the Giant.
