  • Good gun range?

I am tired of shooting at static paper targets.

Is there a place around here that has targets that pop up, or move, or something more realistic than shooting at a piece of paper?
I am planning on going shooting on Sat morning and would like to step it up a bit.

I've only used their rifle bay a few times and their shotgun fields...been meaning to try out their archery field but haven't yet.

I was just about to suggest them, I've been out there 4 or 5 times and will keep going back.

I don't know if he has exactly what you're looking for, but since he's a member here it might be worth checking out.

They have steel swingers (10", 6", and 4" [two of each]) at 500 yards, but you can bring your own stuff to shoot like softballs, empty spray paint cans, empty soda cans, golf balls, etc. The owner just cut out 500 yards in his back yard (farm) and turned it into a range. The handgun range is pretty small/simple (see website) but it does have two steel plates to shoot at. Basically it is good to spend a little time while your rifle cools down. I went there quite a bit last time I was home on vacation.

If you want long range you might want to look at http://www.riflesonly.com/ I plan on going there next time I am home on vacation.
