Yeah, it's 12 ounces. Vs. the more expensive and equally suppressive AAC Cyclone @ 22 ounces. And it's rated for .300 magnum... and it has a smaller circumference."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Interesting. 12oz on the 9" barrel is light enough.Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostYeah, it's 12 ounces. Vs. the more expensive and equally suppressive AAC Cyclone @ 22 ounces. And it's rated for .300 magnum... and it has a smaller circumference.

Am I the only one that is bothered by them saying Silencer in lieu of Suppressor? It's like the whole clip vs magazine thing for me..."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

They do it because it's mainstream and people know exactly what it means. Their business is marketing to customers who are not suppressor fans, and the majority of people falsely believe they are illegal. It's their whole branding strategy. The US Government refers to suppressors as "silencers" or "mufflers" officially.Originally posted by BlackGT View PostAm I the only one that is bothered by them saying Silencer in lieu of Suppressor? It is a .300 magnum suppressor. It will suppress ANY caliber with a diameter of .30 or less. So .22LR, .17hmr, .223, .223 ackley, 6.8, .270, .308, .300 magnum, etc. The gap in projectile diameter is relatively negated by the increase in volume - so it suppressed surprisingly well (or better) than some .223 cans. But, you probably wouldn't want to shoot much rimfire through it, because .30 cal cans are not serviceable.Originally posted by GSXRK5 View PostWill that suppressor work on .308 as well as 5.56/223? Since it's made for a .30cal round, will it suppress a .30cal round better than it would say a .223?Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostIt is a .300 magnum suppressor. That's something you really can't measure, because a .308 is going to have a hell of a lot more (more than double) volume. What you can measure though is how a .30 cal can competes against a specific .223 can - and the results are negligible.Originally posted by motoman View PostSince it's made for a .30cal round, will it suppress a .30cal round better than it would say a .223?Last edited by CJ; 02-02-2012, 05:22 PM."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

I'm getting a great deal on a used factory Sig threaded barrel for my Sig P239 9mm. Can any of you experts recommend a good suppressor and give me an idea of the cost (including suppressor and any other trust or other fees I would incur). The guy i'm getting the barrel from used a YHM Cobra Can with it on his Sig P239. Thanks in advance.

What about the AAC suppressors? Or is that the one you're talking about?Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostIt is a .300 magnum suppressor. You are going to want to know the threads of the barrel most importantly. Take that into consideration when you hunt for the suppressor all though most manufactures offer each of the models in various threads.Originally posted by 2cammer97 View PostI'm getting a great deal on a used factory Sig threaded barrel for my Sig P239 9mm. This event would be perfect for a beginner like yourself. If you want to shoot a suppressed 9mm pistol before than send me a PM and I will let you shoot mine.
The process to own right now could not be any easier. Form a trust, pay for device, submit form 4 transfer form to BATF along with $200 check and copy of trust.....and wait. When stamp arrives your trust (you) are legal.

I believe the thread is M13.5x1LH. Same barrel that comes with the Sig P239 Tactical 9mm.Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostYou are going to want to know the threads of the barrel most importantly.
