  • Need some ideas for a new gun

With the gun show coming up this weekend I'm looking for another fun handgun to take to the range. Right now I have a 9MM 1911 and a .22 Sig Mosquito that my GF shoots. Looking to get spend about $600, either for 1 gun or 2 cheaper ones. Will be used mostly for the range so I don't need anything fancy just a nice shooter. Any ideas what I should get and maybe a fair price for them would be appreciated.

What kind of shooting are you wanting to do?

Probably stick to pistol and just shooting paper at the range

Just pick something that looks like fun and feels good in the hands.

I heard the sigma trigger sucks though? I do have a friend who has a sigma but I think he had to do a trigger job on it or something

I think I'll hold off on the Sigma for now, seems to be the subject of a lot of debate, LOL My friend has one that he did a trigger job on, I'll see if he'll let me shoot it first. I'll check out the Bersa 380 and see how much i have left over after that.

Both of those guns are junk. Besides the rossi revolvers we got more calls and complaints about those two then any other gun at Academy in the 3 years I worked at the gun counter. After shooting the sigma I wouldn't give more than $100 for one. I would go with one quality gun.

One of my favorites that I have to shoot is a Ruger GP100, it is a blast to shoot 38 out of and reasonably priced.

I enjoy shooting revolvers. Old and new. Try one and see what you think.
Then there is the PMR30 that I think would be a fun little plinker with .22 mag

Why bother with a $300 gun, when a $400 xd/witness/glock/blah blah blah will be a solid, shootable firearm?
