Anyone else weighed there AR yet?

How do you like the JP brake? I know they build some nice shit, I've got a JPoint somewheres that I had on a 1911 for a while..

I like it a lot. Not much group separation with double taps. But people at the range will hate you.

If you aren't building for a match rifle, they have a break that is called supposed to eliminate the recoil. But it's too big for most of the matches. It looks kind of crazy though. Here is a link to it.

That's one of the first I'd looked at, definitely want to try one out.

My 9.5" .300 sbr weighs 5lbs 6.4oz. My 20" M16A1 weighs 6lb 8oz. Most 16" carbines weigh 6lb 4oz. It's all in the barrel profile. My 20" A1 is only ounces heavier than a 4" shorter barrel.

Damn, I don't even think that my 26" heavy barreled rifle with a 4 X 16 scope on it is that heavy.

The carbine weight is an A3 flat with carry handle. The sbr has optics, A1 is iron.

7.4lbs empty. 16in M4 profile barrel, YHM specter length FF tube, BCM Gunfighter large CH, magpul CTR stock, MIAD, MBUS, KAC front frip, Surefire QD mount with E2D light. No optics yet, but may add a ACOG down the road. Not sure yet.

Glad that you approve. Great match gun, when I'm loading up my pistol and the RO is holding my AR, they usually don't want to give it back. I'm a pretty big fanboy of LaRue.

I do drink the cool aid, but I really could tell the difference in the quality of machine work with mine. The first time I broke it down to clean it and I pulled the rear take down pin and tried to break it over. Most of the other AR's I've had just kind of fall open, I thought I forgot something, and I realized that the tolerances were just that tight. I actually had to put a little effort into separating the upper and lower receivers. That quality has been noted by me throughout the whole rifle and I would only expect the OBR's to be as good or better.

It doesn't look like any of your rail space is really being used except for your AVFG and pop up front sight. What length gas system?

It's a midlength, I went with the rifle length rail because i like the way it looks and to me it balances well, even with a light on it. I'd also like to find a used vltor mod pod at some point. The other receiver set I have will definitely be a carbine or midlength with the appropriate length forearm.
