Something weird is going on at our lease. I hunted Sat, Sun and Monday morning to see only one doe. I rarely ever get skunked. I was gonna stay for a Monday evening and Tuesday hunt, but I was disgusted and decided to go home.

Sadly I didn't take him I've only seen one shooter in person and he saw me then ran off only to be taken by the guy behind us. I rattled him in from around 225yds then he popped out of the brush 30yrds and was locked on me. Not a huge trophy but a well aged mature deer with some nice mass for our area.

Well the freak I posted pics of was taken this weekend despite been very poor looking he was still very heavy and took 3 to get into the pickup.

Also got an SD card from my dad that had a few good pics on it of a young 8, sadly this deer was taken but it was a personal best by the hunter so no hard feelings.

Dropped a pig tonight and made a mess of another that ran off into the thick stuff, pigs sure aren't liking the 162 Amax's my 7mm gives them.

just made 15 pounds with highmountain hunters blend summer sausage kit.

Not bad, with a little kick to it. It would be better smoked as i do it in the oven.

Next batch ill try another seasoning. i like this stuff, but has to much of a kick for me if i eat alot.

Cousin just sent me this pic, took this buck out towards Rankin yesterday.

well took one of the guys out tonight. Had a group of does come over from the wildlife, and i decided to let him take one after watching them for 20-30 min about 40 yards in front of us.

The guy botched the shot. hit low briscut. i tracked it over a 1000 yards before loosing blood. I was pissed and still kind of am, as this should have been easy meat on the ground. Now its one less fawn ill have in the spring and no meat for the hunter.

Last day was today here. Went out and found nothing. I need to do some tracking next year and find out feed spots and where they rest.

Heading down south around Beeville on the 17th for a couple of days hope to bring back a couple of hogs and a doe.
