I was surprised at how quickly some of those barrels were being "shot out" with only 5k-6k rounds through them. I guessed that one would get at least 10k rounds out of the life of the barrel. The results made me pretty happy about the 2500 rounds of federal in my safe as well. When I was 18 I had some wolf steel jam in my Mini14 to the point it took a rubber mallet hitting the bolt to get it to release, so I learned my lesson on steel early in life.Comment

All I shoot is steel unless I come across a great deal on brass. Never had any issues that weren't caused by worn parts anyway.2004 Suzuki DL650

Yes (I haven't seen the video) but heat adds an exponential curve to wear rate. Ok cool, i was thinking it would have been a much better representation to shoot at a much lower rate. I know when I design anything for high temperature I have to look at a few tables comparing temperature vs ultimate tensile strength and so on....but Im not sure what material the barrels are or how much thermal expansion helps interference.Originally posted by CJ View Post
