Finalist was the Amsec BF6636 in textured black with black nickel hardware.

At 1280lbs and 1/2" steel plate doors (filled with concrete), I'd better never have to buy another one again....
    How much did you pay?
    about $3,500??

I am in the market as well, but only want to spend $700-$1,500 on a safe.

After fully reviewing all safe manufacturers, I think I've settled on a Superior Safe. Not as expensive as a Liberty of Fort Knox, but has most of the same features, if not all, and better ratings on a like-for-like model.

Now I just need to go find the one I want... Anyone have any experience with this brand?

They only have 1" bolts on 1 side of the door, but If somebody really wants in the safe and knows how to go about it, the door is not where they'll attack it anyways.
I have a Revere 20 which is comparable in size to the Centurion. There's also the RV-20 which is China made, while the Revere 20 is Made in USA. Revere 20 has bolts on both sides of the door. 30 Min @1200F rated. My restriction on the safe was the size of closest I was sticking it in. I'm more than happy with it. It won't stop a determined crook nor long fire, but thus far, I'm in a low crime area, have an active burglar alarm and the fire station is 10 minutes away. All of that should minimize my risk.

I can't bolt it down in this house yet, but when the new house is found for next year I will. I will have to keep it in my office in the current house, which has wood floors and I don't want to fuck those up when I'm selling ....
How many guns are you actually planning on putting in it? A 30 gun safe means 30 long guns. If you want shelves on one side, that gets cut in half. If you have rifles with scopes or pistol grips, it also reduces the number you can fit in there. So you could easily end up only being able to put 10 long guns in it.

    LMAO at Barry's.

Longer the fire rating the heavier the safe will be. Brand would depend on what you come across personally I want an hour of fire rating minimum.

Main reason I have mine is fire protection as well, I figure if someone wants inside it bad enough they will find a way. Hopefully my neighbors should notice the odd behavior by then.

    Kind of my point.

A professional crook going after the safe will get in no matter what.

The average robber doing a quick smash and grab won't even look at any bolted down safe except maybe a complete POS.

My safe was 90 minutes at 1680 degrees, and that's all I really cared about.

Where can I buy something American made and in stock? Has to be able to fit through a 23" door.
