Must have tools for hunting

and don't say a gun. I am preparing to do some kind of hunting, probably hogs, and I know I need some other items beside a rifle and a sidearm. What else do you all recommend I purchase?

Id like to do some night hunting, I figure a red lamp car battery type setup would do well at a feeder? What size binoculars do you think will suffice, what about a range finder?

In my experience:
-If hunting at night, it doesn't matter what you wear. I have killed hogs in jeans and a polo shirt.
-Have either nightvision or a good ass light
-Take a good knife. I used to use a KABAR, which doesn't suck but I have since upgraded. A good knife when hunting is to processing and cleaning what a good gun is to killing.
-Don't worry about a range finder. If you have time to check the range on a group of hogs, you could have just killed a shitload instead
-Hunting hogs from a blind sucks. I have never had luck with this.

for night hunting bino's aren't needed unless night vision, no range finder either. If hunting from blind you can figure ranges ahead of time and put out markers.....

If I was to walk around at night, would a shooting stick be something good to get? Or would I normal not have time to setup to get a better shot?

Best bet, bro... go with someone that has hunted before. Sounds like this will lead up to a trip in the boonies, only to find you don't have everything you need and know. That will only end up with a wasted kill.

For hogs if just have a knife and rope outside of guns

At least two good knives with one having a gut hook. If hunting during the day binos are really nice I carry a pair of 10x42's and feel that's about as big as one needs unless you are glassing across mountains. A rangefinder can be useful a good bit if you don't always hunt from the same spot other than that it is a one time use that can be pretty expensive for a good one.
