Shooting GTG?

Everyone is invited as with any GTG. I need to know how many are coming though, so I have a general idea of what to expect. I'd like to keep the amount of vehicles down if it's over 3 or 4, so we can meet at a big gas station near by and leave cars there if necessary.

We'll start on the shotgun range shooting clays because there is a Youth GTG at some of the pistol ranges until 2pm, after that we're free to pretty much do whatever. You can fire rifle and pistol on the shotgun range if you like as well, there just isn't anything to shoot at except berms.

A few have offered to bring clays, that's definitely a good idea - I won't be bringing any myself, just shells. We also need a hand slinger, I broke mine apparently. The area we will be shooting is wooded with about a 35yd circle of room. After 2pm the 15, 25, 50, 100, and 200 yard ranges will be free to shoot at.

We will be meeting at the usual spot: 121 County Road 810 North, Alvarado, TX

That's the closest working address google has, there is a large Shell gas station at 810/67 right there, you can't miss it. We'll meet in the parking lot up against 67. I'll be in my green sable. From there we'll decide how many cars we'll take into the range which is just across the street, basically.

Can't make the 8th, having a graduation party for my wifes little brother. I have a 19lbs and 12.5lbs brisket that I am cooking and can't leave the house. Sucks because I live just a little bit from there on FM 917.

Anyways, have fun and be safe ya'll. If the date changes to anything other than the 8th I can probably come.

I might be in if that's ok with Cj and can provide some targets to shoot at if interested ie:car hood or doors and can bring them back with me if need be after they're turned into Swiss cheese lol

If I can make it, I have 2 boxes of clays that have been sitting in my garage for some time. Also, is there a setup for shooting an AR with iron sights?

My Mossberg 930 SPX is not very good at shooting clays...

I live in Irving but appreciate the gesture. Though, if we all show I would be more than happy to take either one of ya'll up on the offer.

Shotgun wont really pay off unless your shooting comp, though it is good to save your hulls, maybe you could sail em and make a little change.

I have a bench reloader, not a hand loader so it is not portable. I would be happy to help you learn, though I dont know all of it and have been learning new things here and there...I have become decent.


CJ, I see alot of guys are planning on shooting clays. I dont own a shotgun (was stolen) but you will not mind pistol and rifle as well would you? Also, is this an open invitation to the board or is this a list type of deal?

Would hate to drive out there to find out it is a private party ya know

Of course, had to do it around my surgery date. I am out 6/7/13 - 6/10/13 and afterwards cannot lift more than 5 lbs for 2 weeks.

Is your setup mobile? I'd love to learn how to reload my own and then shoot it!
