  • What's Going on Here?

I've seen this pic a couple of times, but never an explanation that I've found. But I'm not a great Internet searcher.

    Baffle strike of epic proportions.

    Copied from another forum:
M4-2000 which was inadvertently subjected to an entire magazine on full auto, on a 300 Blackout upper

Interesting. So I'm guessing that was molten copper jacket at some point.

Shit, sounds like it would work to me...

You know the owner of the can called customer service and played dumb trying to get a new one, lol

I bet that Inconel and SS was fun to cut through.

Well that looks expensive to fix.

So David, how would that work now. You send it to Surefire and they make another one printing the old S/N on the new can? Or is this dude just out the suppressor, tax stamp and wait time?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I could go on and on about the "joys" of how much fun that is.

I know all about it, dude. My first job out of highschool I got to learn about work-hardened C-22 Hastelloy.

You would have to pay for another stamp unless they can repair it while retaining the serialized portion.

This is why some of these companies make a big deal about having a modular blast baffled housing. With a failure of that magnitude it would have likely damaged a modular design though.

Since they cut it in half. You're fucked. You use to be able to just build a new can with the same serial, but the ATF halted that after someone wrote a letter asking them about it.
