I'm looking for a small 1911 but don't want to spend a ton on one just yet (I've never owned one)

If not does anyone have a suggestion on what to look for Or does anyone have something I'd be interested in that they want to get rid of

I wouldn't bother with an officer length gun, unless you were ready to put some effort into getting it running just right. If all you need is a concealed carry piece, there was a sickdeals.com offer for an M&P Shield on the cheap. I might also suggest a PF-9.

What Yale said ----- the shield is a much better gun. Most of the RIA 45's are on a series 70 frame. Great firearm don't knock it at all. It is just heavy and dated.

Springfield XDS in 45 or 9mm.

I guess I should mention this would prob not be something to carry. Just something to have. I know ill prob get laughed at by my LCP is good for me being that it's light and easy to conceal in work clothes (slack/polo). I know it's only a 380 but it's what I'm most comfortable with at this point

IMO when you start getting below 4.25 inches on a 1911 you see a lot of reliability issues.
