Looking to get a SWR Spectre II or a Huntertown Kestrel 22. I started talking with the guys at NC Silencer about ordering one but they seem rather high ($650 for the SWR, $640 for the Kestrel out the door). At that price I would probably be better off ordering and paying for the transfer from out of state. Who have you guys been going through for these?

The only time I would recommend buying something other than a sparrow is if it was less. Swr is owned by silencerco and they make good cans also. I have a friend with a kestrel and he paid much less than a sparrow and hes happy."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

The biggest benefits to the sparrow (and why it's so popular) is the fact it's rated for .22, .22wmr, and 5.7mm. All those in full auto. Also, it has a clamshell design, so you can shoot it as much as you want, and clean it whenever. It's made of stainless so you can use "the dip" to clean it out. Most cans cannot be fired over 500 or 1000 rounds before they must be cleaned or they can't be disassembled.Originally posted by SonicblueGT03 View PostI know nothing about suppressors, but I assume there's more to the story than simply decibel reduction? If not, then judging by the video on Silencerco's website, the AAC Element would seem to be the better choice.
