My grandfather gave us some guns of his last time I was in Colorado. He is in bad health and did not want them to "disappear" if something were to happen.

He gave us a 1975 Hi-Power that has NEVER been shot...I want to shoot it as I have heard great things about them...but it’s NEVER been shot, box, papers and everything just as it came from the store. Would never sell, though sometimes I do wonder what it is worth.

The market is soft for NIB Belgian Hi-Powers from the '70's? Not bloody likely. For example, there's a 1986 NIB Hi-Power for $1500 on gunbroker. I bet he gets it, too. I don't think Gtracer would get $2k for his, but he could unload it at $1,500, also. If he's not in a bind, he can always wait it out, though.

i wouldnt know how to tell for sure, but it looks all original to me. no blemishes on the slide or anywhere.

i do know this one doesnt appear to have been fired much. no wear on the barrel or inside of the frame. very tight and smooth action

Long story short and not trying to hijack the thread here...

My greatgrandfather had a M1 30-30 WWII Issue, he used it during his service; planed on handing it down when he passed away. Well, it went to my uncle who's crackhead son stole it and pawned it so he could buy some meth...never saw it again

My not so close grandfather in CO gave me these guns...regardless of the bind...these will NEVER get sold unless my family depends on it and even then I might think about robbing a bank before I sell.

But the curiosity it there, I have limited experience with older firearms. Hell he gave me a S&W 44 Special Wheel gun...I dont even have a clue what it is, lol. We also got a Browning .380 NIB that was made in '78 and a 336 30-30 from '75 that has only been fired 3 times, though I plan on chaning that soon.

I will take some pictures later and post em up, would be interesting to see what people know about them or can help out...I just never really thought about it until this thread

In all the times CJ and I have gone shooting I don't think I have seen him shoot 10mm once .... Now 5.56 brass is more believable. That man has enough to bathe in it.

We shot 10mm when I went with him, but we also picked up probably 4000

How far does your EAA throw the 10mm? I put a Wolf 22lb spring in that bad boy back when I first bought it and man, it thows brass about 10-15ft every shot.

I end up walking the line while everyone else is changing targets. You will see me wondereing up and down picking up 10mm, appologizing to the guy 4 lanes down as a round or two popped him in the head.

Thinking about getting some PVC pipe and fish net and building me a little catcher to set on the bench next to me as I lose maybe 20-30 pcs everytime I go.

All 10mm's do that, it's just a result of the high pressure 10mm runs at. My delta throws brass far as well.

Well I figured the added resistance from the spring would help dampen not only the slide slamming into the frame but also the distance which brass is thrown.

Wonder how far it goes with a stock spring?

And to keep the thread on track, yeah CJ is the man for .223/5.56 brass. He had trash bagS FULL last time I met up with him. But then again, I guess thats what Dillon does to you

anyone want to help me out here? likeitfast55 and i are trying to figure out if this is indeed a real browning and not a clone.

i'm 99% sure it's the real deal. it fits the description to the T of the browning hi power practical on browning's website and the "blue book" that my gunsmith had and it has the proof marks on the barrel and trigger guard as well as a registered browning serial number according to their dating chart.

If your serial number fits their format for the date you're aware of, call it good.

yes that's the site i used to date the gun. serial # starts with 245NV
