A lot of people hate modern striker fire pistols period. Reasoning gets cast aside for emotion.

The XDM compact is a double stack pistol with a 3.8" barrel. The XDS is single stack with a 3.3" barrel. The width makes all the difference for a pocket pistol.

I bought a glock 19 recently too and now I have a glock 19 for sale. The grip angle is not for me, and the glock doesn't feed as well as an XD. In the military we had the m9, and I really hate it with used magazines.

I'm a 1911 and XD guy. Sigs work too. My wife loves her CZ. That's whats great about the market, shoot what works for you. My wife has FTF on lots of pistols but not with a cz.

The CZs are super nice guns. A cheap alternative to look at is the Canik pistols coming in. They are license built copies made in Turkey and go for around $300 new at academy. I bought a compact and for $300 the gun is damn hard to beat.

Thanks for the input. If I end up with a pocket gun it will have to be something along the lines of a LCP. I am a small frame guy (5'8" 120-130lbs). I am sure with the right holster conceal carry of my sub compact might be an option. I need to get my hands on an XDS and see what the difference is.

On the Glock comparison, I shot a 9mm compact side by side with my xd40sc and the glock, to me, was harder to handle.

I am going to have to take you up on that offer. I also came across the TP-9 for the same moneys. Any advice on that one? Looks like an OK deal also.

Good gun as well, but I am partial to the CZ-75 design with the internal frame rails and whatnot. Some people do not like the small slide however, as there is less to grab on to when racking it.

I've seen a lot of these are the gun shows lately, typically right next to a Witness.

As long as it is a 9mm and it works is all the concerns me. I would like to check that one out that you picked up, being a small guy I prefer a compact sized gun.

Glad you like the garand. I have a sling for it now if you need one. I bought two mil spec slings from Springfield. I like my new m1a. I need to go rifle shooting. Ive been shooting pistols a lot lately. My xds gets back to me today..... Back to the range i go. Last time i went I had 7 pistol cases. Cz, glock, 1911, 1911, XD, xdm and Sig. Honestly all of them shoot better than I do. I could defend myself with any of them. I like the 1911s, XDs, and Sig in that order. I shoot the best groups with the 1911s.

Anyone interested in a week old glock 19 can PM. Gen3, 50 res down tube, cleaned with close. Lowballers can dream about it in my safe. I'd rather collect it than give it away, but its not my cup of tea.

Off topic, what are the differences in a 638 & 438 besides finish? The 438 "bodygaurd" is the only shrouded hammer black gun they offer yet it looks like an airweight frame on the 638.

The finish is the only difference. Both have alloy frame and stainless barrel and cylinder.
