If I have a .750 gas block. It (heavy barrel 1/9 twist) should work in that colt A1 kit right?
I know it is not "right" but should get me shooting until I can get the .625 1/12 period correct barrel in?

Why waste all that money? Just buy the right barrel and use the gas block the kit comes with. Those barrels are all over. To be a little clearer I was not looking for an authentic A2 per se. I was looking for 20" barrel, A2 stock, carrying handle part of the lower and A2 grips. On the way home from work today I stop by a place, had that at a decent price, assembled and brand new so I grabbed it.
