I lived there for a few years when I was stationed at Ft. Belvoir. Much more redneck than hood. I was back there two years ago and it still looked pretty redneck.

I really don't have an issue with this. The owner doesn't want to have guns on his property then he is free to make that demand. I think he is pretty naive to think people with illegally concealed pistols are going to bother complying but it's still his right. The only reason this makes the news is Keith's name. I'm pretty sure Toby Keith has no say in the matter.

That all depends on what's in the Franchise paperwork... I also believe he had nothing to do with the decision but he might have the power to either revoke the franchise, or force the owner to change the rule. The Devil's in the details!

I guess it depends on what part of the 'hood you were in. The parents of a friend of mine lived there for 20+ years and sold their house about four years ago because of the "up and coming" conditions they were experiencing.

No person who carries a concealed handgun onto the premises of any restaurant or club as defined in Section 4.1-100 for which a license to sell and serve alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption has been granted by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board under Title 4.1 of the Code of Virginia; may consume an alcoholic beverage while on the premises. A person who carries a concealed handgun onto the premises of such a restaurant or club and consumes alcoholic beverages is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. However, nothing in this subsection shall apply to a federal, state, or local law-enforcement officer.

If I remember correctly to get a CHL in VA it is just a paperwork exchange with some $$$ involved. Basically if you have a VA DL you can get a CHL with minimal hassle. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure I am right.

Yup. All you have to show is some kinds of firearm safety training. Military, hunter safety course, NRA pistol course, or something similar. No proficiency test, no written tests.

VA requires that you have gone through some type of firearms training, for example an NRA course, other states CHL or if you are a veteran they accept your DD214. We do not have a dedicated class or shooting requirement like Texas has.
