A good friend of mine is a tourguide in Eastern Asia, used to be Central America and Europeans we're always dumbfounded when he would talk about going shooting. It's just not as popular over there. Hell, I bet there are plenty of states in the U.S. where most people haven't shot a gun."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

I'm probably the only douche here that this bothers, but tell him to keep his finger off the trigger (when goofing off like that) and weapons pointed down range when at the range.
With that out of my system, I think that's a really cool thing you did for him. Wonder what crime is like in Germany.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

Very similarly. They have the same recoil and controls (safety, mag release, bolt catch, etc) but I think the trigger on my Rock River AR (2 stage trigger) is slightly better. The sig however is much easier to clean and takedown. After 100 rounds, a single patch could clean the bolt/bolt carrier. People say "hey, it works like an AK!" but I would say that it is more of an AK-FAL hybrid. The piston separates from the bolt and the gun takes down much like an FAL, but the bolt group is very similar to an AK.Originally posted by mustang_revival View PostCool thing to do.
How does that Sig 556 shoot compared to the AR?
Naw, It bothers me a bit. I was just taking the picture and didnt notice, otherwise I would have said something.Originally posted by ceyko View PostI'm probably the only douche here that this bothers, but tell him to keep his finger off the trigger (when goofing off like that) and weapons pointed down range when at the range.
That day was a challenge, I was giving someone with no prior knowledge of firearms crash courses in gun saftey, aiming, stance, grip, acquisition, and function. I guess a few things I said slipped through the cracks.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

Not to say it's not water under the bridge, but go back 70 years and the disbelief of hearing a german in America shooting guns with an American in good fun...crazy how diplomacy and friendships change in less than a century...where will we be in less than a hundred years?

Oh and if you ever have any other foreign students come in, please shoot me a PM. After we get done blowing stuff away, I will take him out in a "real american muscle car"

Lol, I had times like that. I still remember taking my 21 y/o niece and having given her an hour long run down at home - and it being similar at the range still.Originally posted by DOHCTR View PostThat day was a challenge
The military gets gun saftey training right. Point your weapon wrong = butt stroke across the head. You see it happen to someone else and you don't ever forget it.

I went to school for most of HS in WV and we had a German exchange student. He was sort of a prick, but I don't see what you did happening for him back then. Each generation gets a little more forgiving I guess, which is necessary. Plus it was WV, simple life but generally not forgiving to the "Japs, Gooks" and so forth.
