the only thing im really happy with is my daughter works in corsicana, i put together 2 emergencty bags for her, one at her desk one in the car, they have water flashlite whistle asprin, hand powered phone charger, bandages, knife, jerky, etc. and a map to sherrifs office, city police, AND all our relatives within the radius of corsicana, my thinking (disaster) is for her to survive, to make to sherrifs office, or family thats close, not trying make 18 mile trek to us,

Probably better to try and hide and let most people kill each other off first. To increase your chances
For one, you need to either get out before the shit gets really bad or lay low and let the first round of murders play out. I have 3 places I can go. Two are friends and one is mine. One is north, one is south and one is east.
First I have to rally my family at home if possible and then pick a direction to go depending on the situation. I have maps showing me how to get to each location using as many backroads as possible already and avoiding any town over a few thousand people.
I have to admit a lot of my plan counts on country folks maintaining their cool when the cities have gone to hell. It's not failsafe, but it's better than staying in a fed controlled mil taken over city. If you are in town when the blue helmets of the UN arrive, you are screwed that's for sure.
If the shit ever happens, it's not going to be a free for all shooting anything that moves (at least not at first). In case you didn't know it, most gun owners are responsible law abiding citizens interested in protecting their families. They are not would be assassins going on a rampage.
Figure out the signs that say you need to bug out and communicate them to anyone you care about. The sign that tells you to get the F out of the city is the most important thing to know. I know mine. What's yours?

I have a Midway range bag that has a center pocket with that has two Glock 19s, one with a threaded barrel for the SWR Octane 9 suppressor, and a Streamlight TLR-1 650 lumen weapon light. The other is a stock Glock for either double wielding or spare parts.
One of the sides has magazine pouches for 8 fully loaded magazines. I also have 2 fully loaded mags of defense ammo in the center pouch with the guns and 2 spare Glock 19 mags with defense ammo.
The other side has 2 pockets, one for a gun cleaning kit, and the other can hold a box of 100 rounds.
I would grab my work AR since it has a mag in the well, and my leg pouch with 6 loaded mags.
Also my tactical first aid kit and a couple of water purification straws.
Of course I'd grab a couple of my trusty Fenix 850 lumen flashlights and my 10 pack of CR123 batteries.

This scenario happened in a dream last night and the only items I had time to grab were a pistol/rifle and my gym bag. Another thing that held me back was not keeping more fuel in my vehicle.
