6.8 rem SPC >>> Mk47. It's cheaper and the ballistics are nearly identical. There is also a lot of hunting ammo readily available in 6.8 spc.

I can't keep reading thread title without saying something. "Fuck guns are addicting" or "fuck, guns are addicting". Little misleading . Anywho this site kinda influenced me to arm up too. CJs grin after shooting some giant modded out rifle with Alex pushed me to pick up my first decent pistol. I could tell i was missing something in life haha. Picked up a Ruger 9mm the next day from a debt owed. He still owes, so I may have to continue disarming him and make it to a shooting gtg. I wanna big grin too dammit !
The Ruger is an upgrade from the Lorsen .380 I have. That pistols better off being used to bludgeon baby seals than shooting.

ehhh ill go 7.62x39 over 6.8 any day. for one thing a box of 200 6.8 rds is nearly as much as 1000 rds of .223 or 7.62. i cant just put a 6.8 upper on my WW lower anyway, from what i understand.

Comparing the price of ussr steel case ammo to good brass ammo is like comparing a mustang II to a coyote 5.0. And yes you can pin a 6.8 upper to any AR lower. It costs a lot less to do than buying the mk47 you want too. You could have a 6.8 upper with an acog for the price of ak47. Or you could have a complete 6.8 ar and a complete ak in 7.62..... Then you can shoot either ammo.

Unless you reload, 6.8 is not a good idea imho. Even then it's expensive.
