  • Coating

Looking for a local place that does coating.
Not sure the difference of duracoat or ceracoat either...

My phone wont let me use the search function for some reason on here.

...and no I am not wanting pink.

Ceracoat is a more durable coating but harder for DIYers since it has to be baked on at Temps above 300°. Some here have done it themselves in "garage ovens."

Duracoat doesn't have to be heated to flash and cure but it does help speed up the coating process and makes the finish safe to assemble sooner. I made a simple insulated box and using a halogen lamp, I can get items above 200°.

    What are wanting coated?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Not sure a polymer frame can be Cerakoted because of the heating process. Most likely will need the frame Duracoted. The slide can be be both Duracoated and Cerakoted. Sorry I can't help on the suggestions of where to have the work done. Have read many post of Durakoting being easy for a driveway DIY'er.

How does the curing process differ?

I thought I saw that you had already done some on FB? Or was it just your painting booth?

Never heard of hydrodipping. Is that the "paint booth" set up in your garage, Matt?
