I'm sure the world is a much safer place now that all of those guns are off the street. Now they can't spring legs and arms and shoot innocent people.

I would sue the living shit out of that city for unreasonable search and seizure. Was the dead man or the guns themselves posing a threat to society? What if they were all stolen?Originally posted by Stephen View PostWhy waste a bunch of man hours on those guns when the guy is dead now? Who gives a fuck if they're linked to any crimes, he's dead! It's not like he's going to get in trouble now.. Waste of payroll
Who says the guy even has any family. Maybe the family gave consent for them to haul them off. I have seen many a widow dump guns on the local PD after their husband or a relative died. I mean why go off the deep end with zero facts and a blurb of a article?Originally posted by CJ View PostI would sue the living shit out of that city for unreasonable search and seizure. Off the deep end citing constitutional rights. Zero facts although citing facts in the article. A+ post.Originally posted by kingjason View PostWhat if they were all stolen?

Property of the estate was seized with zero evidence according to that article. Simply speculation because of the property type and quantity. Property that would belong to the family or heirs. It seems pretty clear the objective is to hopefully link one to a crime in an effort to seize all of the weapons. The article plainly states the owner had no links or evidence of criminal activity, yet his entire estate was seized on speculation. The sheer number of asinine ever changing gun laws in California would be a nightmare to navigate for any legit gun owner. Its highly likely they will find at least one gun that doesn't fit in the box, and they will seize everything. For all we know, the guy could be crazy, with no family. Either way, the state is seizing an estate under highly questionable circumstances. I plan on following this to see what exactly the state does.Originally posted by kingjason View PostBased on the article, whose constitutional rights did they violate?
“We don't think the weapons are illegal. We are taking them for public safety,” said Sgt. David Craig of the LAPD's gang and narcotics division.Last edited by CJ; 07-21-2015, 10:36 PM."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

property was seized for the protection of the community and will be returned upon location of an immediate blood relative to a ffl so each weapon can be properly registered (and charged for) and after the relative pays the storage fee. If no relative can be found after 30 days the property becomes the possessions of the city.

Even better, seize property, charge storage, stack fees, set time limit, cash in. Let's see if that happens."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

The body went unnoticed for two weeks in the summer heat, decomposing inside a sport utility vehicle parked in the affluent neighborhood of Pacific Palisades.
Sounds like some bizarre weekend at Bernies shit. I can't quote the article but apparently the attorney for his fiancé alerted the police to the house and the guns.Last edited by kingjason; 07-21-2015, 11:00 PM.Whos your Daddy?

The city has to figure out some "legal" way to steal the guns from the estate.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I do not know about long guns, but pistols are required to be registered. My father had two and could not include them in his trust because they'd never been registered.Originally posted by Denny View PostI don't know the specifics of the laws in California, but our firearms don't need a registration in Texas.
