  • Video - First round always a flyer?

I have been shooting for a long time and don't think I have ever heard this excuse before. I say excuse because that is what it sounds like to me. Basically he is saying that the first round you fire that has been chambered by hand instead of the gun's action will fly to a different point of impact. Anyone else ever hear this? Am I wrong and it is a legitimate reason? Fast forward to about 5:10 to get to his explanation.

In all guns? I can't watch the video, but that just doesn't make sense to me.

Seems to just be talking about semis and he specifies in the end he isnnot talking about cold bore shots or shots from a non-fouled barrel.

I don't see how that would work. I mean if you put a 5.56 in an ar and then dropped the bolt, wouldn't it be the same?

**edit** I hand chamber all of my pistols and shoot pretty consistently with them.

Exactly my thinking. The bolt lockup in the chamber is always at the same place and the round would sit in the same place.
