Would a USP function if put through the same test? I think that putting a hole in the back of the slide so the striker could be seen was a mistake on HKs part.

It is pretty hard to get manufacturers to send guns for this sort of thing because realistically the results are almost always the same. I have done this with some rifles, as has inrange and the firearms have unilaterally failed.
