Got my CHL in the mail today...Mailed 1/19 and in my hand 3/7. Not a bad turn time.

I mailed mine from here in Afghanistan on 02/20. They have not even cashed my check yet. Not that it matters; I won't be home until September but I want to make sure all that personal info is not out there floating around unaccounted for.

I gave them tons of stuff just for that reason

2x DD214
2x DL copy (has the wrong sex though)
2x Texas ID (has the wrong sex though)
2x paper copy of good Texas DL with all the right info
2x paper copy of good Texas ID with all the right info
2x Military ID

I even went to the Hurst jail off of Precinct Line to make sure the two times I had to sit inside that I was not actually arrested "no Mr. &&&&& you were not arrested" me = laughing, wife = shocked lol

I called the TX CHL office and made sure they did not need traffic tickets and citations listed either. "nope only arrest history"

maybe my check will cash by the end of this week.

side note: I went in and laid my brand new fresh out of the mail DL down on the counter and said "sir I need to get a sex change" and slid it to him. He was a loss for words while my wife kicked me in the shins. lol Somewhere the State thought that I was a "F" instead of a "M".

State of Texas just cashed my $70 check for my CHL so I guess I have a little less than 45 days to wait.
