I'm a little scared to do any hand threading, if you're off by even 1/10 of a degree you can waste a $1,500 can."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

There is a pilot that centers the tool relative to the bore; it is as accurate as it gets.Originally posted by CJ View PostI'm a little scared to do any hand threading, if you're off by even 1/10 of a degree you can waste a $1,500 can.
The tools on this site are what I use but I buy them from Brownells because I get them for the same price that this guy buys them for.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Hmm, It is interesting. I might take you up on this in the future just to see it work. So I guess you use the centering tool with a hole saw/end mill bit to turn down the muzzle to the proper diameter to then thread it?Originally posted by svo855 View PostThere is a pilot that centers the tool relative to the bore; it is as accurate as it gets.

Done.

I reblued the threads and it turned out great. Sure does look weird having a can on a tube rifle. It looks even more weird with a AR15 flash hider on it to protect the threads, haha. I like it though, light, reliable, and 20rd magazine. I was tempted to redo the furniture, but I had to convince myself not to fuck with it as I plan on enjoying this gun. Oh, and you can remove the mag tube with the suppressor on, and the iron sights clear the can - easiest conversion I've ever done."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
