  • reloading is expensive

christ i ordered 1000$+ worth or reloading equipment, and i just found about another 400$ worth of shit i need below

I think i underestimated the amount of time involved in case prep.
seems like you'll spend a lot of time on this, much more so than the other stages

i thinking im out abount 800-900$ in brass too . that shit wasn't easy to come by, especially the x39 brass
    i ended up with 1500 9mm, 2000 45acp small primer, 1000 762x39 boxer primed, and 1300 308 commercial brass about half match

hoping to find more components , but it's a PITA
How are you possibly saving any money making ammo ?
I mean i get that the quality will be much higher and better tailored for your guns, but that seems to be about it !

if anyone has a forster coax press , I have some pics of how i 'inboard' mounted on my desk about 5" back from the front.

You won't be saving much if you're buying everything brand new at these inflated prices. You'll have to do a lot of looking around to find the deals on powder, projectiles, and even primers; that's just how the market currently is. You'll save money buying in bulk and reusing your brass, it's one less thing you'll pay for the next time you reload.

The initial investment is high, the payoff is immediate. I don't really buy brass, that's where your expense is going ape shit.

Not sure where you're getting all your brass and such from but check out Craigslist and Texas Hunting Forum for reloading supplies. I've gotten some good deals from there.

Your initial buy in can add up fast but after that the only expense is primers, powders and bullets, with brass occasionally if it is an odd caliber.

whats funny is i really didn't pay that bad of prices for my brass (except the coveted x39 boxer style brass)
rough breakdown , taken from gunbroker, CL, and local :

            9mm - 8 or 9 Cents
            45 ACP - 9 or 10 cents i can't remember
            762x39 - 30 Cents!
            308 commercial, some match - 20 - 25 cents

            mostly advertised as once fired
