Almost done. Waiting on a barrel nut, low profile gas block and my samson hand guard. I am going to swipe the charging handle and BCG from my rifle for now.
I have seen the pigtail gas tubes. Not a fan of the price tag. Are the issues caused by the shorter gas tube major issues?

Sorry for the late reply. A lot of pistols have zero issues but mine did. My entire build was a nightmare. Turns out my barrel had the incorrect gas port drilled.
hell yeah, samson rail. Love those things. That has to be light.

Its not too bad. I will weigh it once I get it all put together. I guess It seems a bit lighter because I don't have a bolt or charging handle in it yet. I am going to change everything over to one of the Spike's lowers from the GB when they all come in and will probably end up selling the poly lower.
I am hoping to put some rounds down range this weekend.
No! Don't do that! They wear into the barrel extension, so swapping them back and forth can cause headspace issues. Get a new one!
Don't freak BUT, unless you are building a match gun, you will be okay. That is why the military loves them so much. You can take 100 apart mix up the parts and put them back together without critical issues. Yes, extreme accuracy can be affected but in the grand scheme, fuck it, mix it up and press on.

Granted, I've been out for coming on 17 years, but with the M16A1/2 they always told us not to interchange bcg's among rifles.

That's because it may require the gun to be sighted it again with a different bolt lug lockup. There's nothing wrong with doing it outside of an inconvenience. Also different rifles have different armory sheets so their wear and maintenance is recorded. You could have someone pull out a BCG from a heavy use rifle and put it into a newer rifle and end up having failures, etc. that were not forseen on the maintenance.
