  • I know where one is for sale for $4,000. I thought "hmm, a rifle caliber machine gun for four grand...." but decided against it. Jackson Armory has one right now too, but I am not sure what they want.

I think that Frank Goepfert (sp?) guy has one for sale at $4500. They're cheap for a reason. Not to mention parts get complicated to search for.

      • Indeed. 8mm lebel is hard to find nowadays (odd considering it stands as the most significant cartridge in history). Also I imagine that 300 rpm would he wildly underwhelming. As for the parts situation I am pretty used to that. On most of my firearms if something breaks, I am fucked.

You should get some rapid prototyping gear, and make CAD copies of all your rare shiz.

Agreed. They get a bum wrap from the uninformed.

I have a friend that was given a 1914 hotchkiss, we had to bake the 8MM before shooting it in the gun.

It was just super old and poorly stored. We thought about pulling the bullets and just reloading it, but baking seemed easier. It worked for the most part. Maybe 100rnds out of 4k or so didnt go.

                  • Interesting. One can only imagine how old that ammo was!

I dont recall, but it was old. Considering that it came from a guy that joined WW2 to go collect stuff like his dad did in WW1. The old mans dad brought the hotchkiss back. They had a lot of cool shit.

                      • My grandfather (who fought in WW1) said the Chauchat was only good for clubbing the huns if they got into their trench. Not sure if he was talking about the French ones of the American ones, but he didn't have a good opinion of them.

My billet American Armament lower that I just put together. I am waiting on a Tokico Arms Carbon upper to come in as well as a TacCon 3MR trigger system. It will get a digital multicam Cerakote when it's finished.

                          • That camo pattern/color scheme will help you blend in better in case you get sucked into a Dr. Seuss book.

The french gave us troops the chauchat, before we had a decent mg. Thanks France.

                              • Lmao!! Thats funny. It is my carry weapon and I also keep it in my car so I am not trying to blend in all that much. I just thought it would be something different and I liked the red diggy from COD.
