The trigger itself is different. Semi auto triggers are boxed in on the back, as the disconnector has no interference with anything. On an m16 trigger, it is open at the back, which allows the longer m16 disconnector to contact the selector and depress it when squeezed. The trigger, disconnector, hammer and selector are all different.
