The CZ is so much better than the 92FS, it's impossible for me to understand why the military selected the 92FS. The CZ meets all the same requirements but does it all so much better.

I suspect that the US picking the Beretta over the CZ had something to do with the CZ being produced behind the iron curtain when the trials were going on and could not easily be found in the US.

No. CZ's were extremely hard to find over here until after the fall of the USSR. I remember the rare examples of CZ75s here in the states selling in the $450-$500 range in the mid 80s and that was a pile of money back then.

Not yet. I tend to binge buy when it comes to guns and haven't been shopping for a little while. I keep meaning to order one from Bud's but I haven't done so.

Edit: Just checked with Bud's and they have them.

A 39-2 followed me home today. It's a 1972 year of manufacture gun. The sights, from what I can tell are optional Millets.

Pretty accurately, and with my standard carry load too. I still like the trigger in the CZ better, but it's not awful.
