            Warsaw Uprising (1 August – 3 October 1944).

            Witold Kieżun after the capture of the Police Headquarters (the Krakow suburb 1) August 23 1944.

            (He is carrying a captured German MG 08/15 Maxim heavy machine gun)

            "This picture was taken after the gain of Bazylika Świętego Krzyża (Church of the Holy Cross). - It was one of the best of our actions. It started at 4 am and we acquired the church, rectory and the police station. My team of seven was the first and we managed to get weapons abandoned by the Germans. I grabbed a heavy machine gun, and grenades in a bag. We collected up everything and ran to the apartments, to hide these weapons. At the outbreak of the uprising we had 17 people with guns. We were pleased that we had so many weapons." (Witold Kieżun -wiadomosci.gazeta.pl)

            Witold Kieżun was 22 in this photo, and still alive today, at 94 years old.

            After the fall of the Warsaw Uprising, Witold Kieżun escaped from a transport to a POW camp. In Krakow he continued to work in the underground. In March 1945 he was arrested by the Soviet NKVD. In May of that year, he was taken to a labor camp in Krasnovodsk. He returned to Poland in 1946.

                  The trigger is night and day. Trigger safety (ala glock) on the new one. Old one has a mile long travel. The new one has better sights. Better fit and finish. Slide release is nicer on the new one. New one has last round slide hold back.

                  She may not get a chance to shoot it for a few months. So far she likes it.
