        Hey Dohctr what version of the PTR91 do you have? I'm hoping to get to hold one this weekend at the gun show so I can get an idea of what features I care about. Still not sure which barrel length is best but I'm leaning towards 18".

              Yes that is my PTR. I paid $850 for it a few years ago and for the money it is a fantastic autoloading 308. Parts and magazines are super cheap, and PTR builds all of their firearms on H&K tooling to exacting specifications. With PTR in business the only reason to get a real HK 91 is for collectability.

                Good info! I've always wondered if the PTR rifles were worth anything. Is the CETME stuff junk?

                  Every CETME I have ever seen has had something wrong with it. CJ has repaired nearly 10 I believe.

                        The problem with cetmes is who built 99% of them here in the US. Century can't build hk weapons at all period.

                                Mine is great aside from the slightly canted front sight. I hate AK sights so I run a PA microdot on a MI railed handguard anyways. Have close to 3 thousand rounds through it without a single hiccup.
