That's surprising. I'm guessing they had no ammo for it."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Eh, there are a shit ton here in the states, just get one from the CMP. The HRA service grade one I got is a pretty nice rifle, much nicer than that one. There is no time like the present, last report I saw the CMP only had enough stock to handle a few more years at the current rate people are buying. Once those are gone, that is it.Originally posted by soap View PostDamn shame.

Agreed. The one they offer with a new barrel and stock is a really good deal as well. The odds of getting a shelf grade with a shot barrel is getting higher and finding a smith that works on Garands is getting less.Originally posted by Pokulski-Blatz View PostEh, there are a shit ton here in the states, just get one from the CMP. Timing is the issue I've always been told. If it's off just a bit reliability goes to shit.Originally posted by David View PostAny smith should be able to work on an M-1. Seems that a good bit of people disagree with you on that.Originally posted by David View PostThere's no timing in an m1 rifle or any semi auto that I'm aware of. Head space probably, but anyone can figure that out. If they can't, you need a new smith.

No not necessarily but without knowledge you either need a lot of spare parts to get things to function correctly.Originally posted by David View PostEh what do I know. I never looked at clip or magazine issues as timing a gun.
Either way, those issues don't need a smith to fix."It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"
