That's all I can think of, but I didn't think 9" barrel threads were exactly carbine length for the handguard."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

You could bore out the I.D. of the handguard cap, and weld up a spacer. Either way, I LOVE that rifle. Simple, functional, albeit expensive and unobtanium.Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostThat's all I can think of, but I didn't think 9" barrel threads were exactly carbine length for the handguard.

What we're saying is the MOE handguard requires a standard hand guard cap behind the FSB to mount it. It isnt' a free float.Originally posted by bottlerocket View PostNo, I have never seen one on the MOE

I think it might just have a large enough ID that the hand guard fits on the muzzle brake, however I know it can't be very tight, seems like it would be flimsy. I just can't believe it's 129.99 for a damn muzzle brake... shit. $99 maybe, $129... that's ridiculous. However... I might still buy one.. I don't like concussion from SBR's. I also wonder if you could turn it down and thread it for a suppressor."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

The Noveske KX3 is ~$130, and there are some that are much more. I don't give a shit about that flash hider, I'd probably cut down a DPMS 5.5Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostI think it might just have a large enough ID that the hand guard fits on the muzzle brake, however I know it can't be very tight, seems like it would be flimsy. Jesus Christ. Did Stanley Tweedle steal your login? Do you know how an AR 15 handguard is held on? If there's nothing holding the front on, it falls off. It's held into the circular grooves of the delta ring and handguard cap via the spring tension of the delta ring. So... without a handguard cap, it would fall off.Originally posted by bottlerocket View PostThe end of the Hera Arms mockup looks the same as that one other than there not being an actual sight post. Can you tell that there isn't a cap on it? Might just be a sample setup and not functional?

It actually locks into the delta ring really damn tight. It would stay on for sure, it would just be flimsy and loose. I have an MOE attached to my upper without a barrel right now and it's on there pretty good, but obviously without a front handguard cap it's useless.Originally posted by ThreeFingerPete View PostJesus Christ. My point is that due to the angle/lighting in that picture, I can't see the handguard cap, but that doesn't mean that it's not there. Bottlerocket doesn't know what a FSB is.Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostIt actually locks into the delta ring really damn tight. It would stay on for sure, it would just be flimsy and loose. I sent both HERA and their US distributor an e-mail about the picture and we'll see what they say.Originally posted by ThreeFingerPete View PostMy point is that due to the angle/lighting in that picture, I can't see the handguard cap, but that doesn't mean that it's not there.
