considering making one. I've never thought about this, but what's the legality in making one of these?Originally posted by bottlerocket View Post"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Nope, unimportable. Also, since there are so few and they are a fairly recently introduced gun there are no parts kits out there (at least I have never seen one) for either the VSS Vintorez or the AS Val.Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostAh, an AS VAL, no one imports those or builds them in the US do they?Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

I knew an NFA weapon was laughably unimportable, but I thought maybe there were some sort of parts kits. It looks to be made on a modified AK receiver with a different dust cover among other things. I thought they had polymer dust covers? It is interesting nonetheless.Originally posted by DOHCTR View PostNope, unimportable. It is unimportable for a number of reasons. One being the 68' bill preventing the importation of NFA stuff for civilians, another being the 1989 import ban, and another being that back in 1998 the US and Russia signed a Voluntary Restraint Agreement which said only certain firearms and ammunitions could be imported for commercial purposes. The Voluntary Restraint Agreement doesn't expire and was mutually agreed by both the US and Russia. It's why you don't see huge amounts of russian parts kits, true russian surplus ammunition (the stuff marked russia comes from Ukraine), or even Russian SKSes (which are also banned from import but were previously allowed prior to 1998, but you do see saigas, VEPRs, some models of Mosins, commercial 5.45, 7.62x39, and 7.62x54R. Russia still has a tremendous stockpile of soviet era ammunition and firearms. Not surprisingly they had nearly 10 times as much compared to many of the satellite states.Originally posted by 5.0_CJ View PostI knew an NFA weapon was laughably unimportable, but I thought maybe there were some sort of parts kits.
