I see. From my findings most everyone called the cosmo problem "sticky bolt" and head space problems "head space problems resulting in a hard to cylcle bolt" and botched ammunition as "botched ammunition resulting in a stuck bolt." My bad for not completely understanding the lingo. Chamber has been hit with solvent and a 20 gauge brush. Markings on the casings lead me to believe it is "sticky bolt" reason #483 in that the gun may have head space issues. Should I throw it away?

I would put a 12gauge steel or copper brush in a drill chuck and run it into that chamber for a few seconds on high speed."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Yeah bob said that originally. Bayonet don't fit too good so I'm going to have the site moved or get a scope. Unsure right now.Originally posted by Superwho View PostIm sure its been stated but they are sighted in with the bayonet attached.
I hope it's that simple. I've heard of people using 20 gauge brush The brush I have does not fit my cleaning rod so I'll have to roll to the gun store and get another, but that is definitely on my list of things to do. I rigged the 20 guage and used a socket wrench with an extension to no avail.Originally posted by CJ View PostI would put a 12gauge steel or copper brush in a drill chuck and run it into that chamber for a few seconds on high speed.

yeah 20 would probably work, but a 12 gauge would really clean the shit out of that thing. Another thing you can try is take a live round (or resized brass case) and smoke it - use a polymer of some kind to get the case full of black soot, and then insert it into the chamber, then remove it. check the case for any contact points. If you look into the chamber with a bore light or whatever you should see the black marks where it made contact with any obstruction.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostYeah bob said that originally. brass brushes are easier on the metal, but this is a nagant. If I could get a cement cylinder in there I would try it.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostBrass brush, right?"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Seems like Olga was an overachiever and was going for a match chambered nagant. What is the country of origin for this rifle? The sounds like some Russian shenanigans."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
