Me too, but quality and reliability? Not so much. If you own a jeep/chrysler you better know a cheap mechanic or be able to wrench it yourself. Otherwise, you will hate it.

Occasionally, you will hear of dude that bought a Seabring and put a 130K on it with no problems (hence my Tuesday comment), but that is definitely not typical.

I did not read all the posts, but I see you've put up your dukes.

    Na, j/king.

What I'd imagine is that you've got soccer moms who think it is cool to own a Jeep.

So they buy a Wrangler....whatever they buy.

I've only driven/rode in rental, other people's and off road Jeeps. NONE of them rode/handled on the road like a standard SUV. I know some of the Wranglers/etc can be decked out a little inside - however, generally they are bland.

I'm of the opinion that these are traits of a Jeep. To me a REAL Jeep, you clean the interior out with a hose.

However, now your soccer mom is all pissed off and that all gets relayed to consumer reports. It's like buying a bolt action for your semi automatic needs. Great gun, just wrong purpose.

I've seen this happen to more then one person I know. From the Wife and I's point of view we've never seen/test drove a Jeep we'd use as a family vehicle either. To clarify, the money is better spent on something else that we prefer the looks/features of as opposed to the Jeep products.

Again though, my opinion is that Jeeps have a niche they serve best. Their secondary concern probably is and SHOULD be the soccer mom/family SUV.

Nope, those are just Ford cutting the wrong corners.

Yours must have rolled off of the line on a Tuesday.

Same original cost. The thing is pretty much the same design for over 70 years.
Quality and durability / dollar, the cherokee is 10x the vehicle that the explorer, S10 blazer, etc were. With a straight six and a 5 speed, they go 250k on original drivetrain consistently.

I like them, but I think the wranglers are overrated, but they are still solid vehicles until you lose the straight six, then I wouldn't think about owning one.
