when's the last time you've done a tune up, filter change/clean, fuel filter replacement, etc?Originally posted by SSMAN View PostMy neighbor only gets 14-15 out of his. For what it is worth, I voted for the Ford.
My tundra on the life clock of the ODO, my average mpg is 13.5 right now with 45k o. Not that good. But I drive mostly city miles. I will say this is the best towing truck I have ever owned. My 6.0 HD Chevy could not hold a candle to the towing power this thing has.
You'd be suprised what little shit like that will do for the fuel economy.

We got 23 mpg all the way to Shrevport doing 70 mph! He did have a Cold Air kit with a Ram Air setup thoughOriginally posted by SSMAN View PostHow the hell do you get 23 mpg out of a Tundra? Mine gets 19 at best and that was one time. About 17 mpg on average on the highway. This is a double cab.
But on a side note with just a drop in K&N filter, it has run a best of 9.143.
Titans are nice, but get bad gas mileage.GOD BLESS TEXAS

lmao.. this "plasticy" interior thing never dies. Each year another moron will make the same dumb comment. Thanks for contributing to 2011Originally posted by jdgregory84 View PostThe 5.0 is not a proven engine so I don't know what to say about it. The Ford trucks are nice, but interior-wise...they're a bit fragile.
Anyhing Dodge can kiss my ass. I've heard they've gotten better, but I got in one and it looked plasticy as fuck.
Toyota Tundras I've heard have horrible problems that aren't drivetrain related. I've driven a couple and they were powerful as hell. That 5.7 they have is impressive. But....They're a bit more expensive.
I hate saying it because I worked for Ford for so long, and they have a great product, but Chevy/GM have a better powertrain warranty and that is important since Ford rolled out a bunch of new engines.

Always on top of that stuff. Except for the fuel filter, it's an in tank filter. It had 16/20 on the window sticker when I bought it. then the gov't mandated more true life ratings in 2008. It went to 14/18 on the window sticker from then on.Originally posted by Silverback View Postwhen's the last time you've done a tune up, filter change/clean, fuel filter replacement, etc?

I like the interiors of the new Fords. They are nice trucks now days.

I test drove one. I was not impressed with it. Maybe it was a bad one? I could see the truck building more boost under a load. But with out a load it felt like any other 6 banger to me. It drove and rode nice though.Originally posted by robert View PostHmm Ecoboost is getting my attention
Has anyone hauled with one?
