When I bought mine new in 2008, all the other Trucks I looked at seemed a little on the plastic/cheap side and the Tundra felt like a better fit/finish. I went to the Fort Worth Auto show wanting to look at the new Dodge's since I have had good luck with my 97 Dodge but it was time to get a new Truck, and after looking at ALL brands that were there, I totally fell in love with the Tundra even though I before hand I would have NEVER looked at a Toyota.Originally posted by davbrucas View PostTo the people that chose the Tundra...what do you like about it that you do not about the other options? I like the styling of the 4x4 Tundra Crewmax...like this one. If this had leather, I would consider getting it.
After 3 years, I am still totally satisfied with the Tundra, rides great, Very Roomy (Crew Max) fit and finish is great, smooth shifting 6 speed auto and with 4.30's it pulls a trailer/boat without feeling a strain at all. Now, as far as gas mileage, can it be a HOG ? sure if you cant keep your foot out of it, which is easy because for a truck thats 5600 + lbs you never feel that weight because the 5.7 is a great Engine with great power !, but.... if you drive like a somewhat normal person, gas mileage is decent. I get around 15 mpg around town and 19-20mpg on the highway driving to San Antonio and back multiple times, but then again I drive normal with it now.
Some dont like that looks of the Tundra or that fact that its a Toyota etc and thats fine, but after 3 years I am still VERY happy with the truck and would buy it again.

Indash display reads 18 to 19. I run mostly highway miles but figure in it's my daily driver now. Hand calculations tell me the computer is a bit optimistic to the tune of 1 MPG or so. I added a cold air kit recently and noticed a slight improvement.Originally posted by davbrucas View PostWhat kind of mileage are you F250 PSD guys getting?Originally posted by BroncojohnnyWould you like your reparations in 5.56mm or 7.62mm?

This, it'll drag a Tundra sideways and get 8-10 more mpg while doing it. Watch the stress testing videos on Ford's website, they did their homework on the Ecoboost. If you aren't going to be towing more than 10k pounds I wouldn't pay the extra for a diesel.Originally posted by 8mpg View PostIf you are considering gas.... Id look at the F150 ecoboost.
They put 150k on one during their dyno testing. This is 150k with a max load under alternating sub zero and 130+ degree ambient temperatures, followed up with dragging logs up mountains, going WOT around a Nascar track fully loaded for 24 hours, drag racing against the competition with max trailer loads and finally putting the same engine in a truck and finishing the Baja 1000 with it, averaging 80+ mph.

Well they certainly aren't going to advertise anything bad that happened/happens!Originally posted by BP View PostThis, it'll drag a Tundra sideways and get 8-10 more mpg while doing it. Fit and finish on the new Fords is fantastic. What about the styling do you not like? Honestly, I think the F-150s look ten times better than the new body style F-250s.Originally posted by davbrucas View PostNot too keen on the F150 styling...Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Well yeah, for all I know they could have pulled 20 engines off the line and ran them all through the same tests and only one survived. Still the testing and lack of wear is impressive.Originally posted by yellowstang View PostWell they certainly aren't going to advertise anything bad that happened/happens!
In case you didn't know Noble has been using twin turbo Duratec engines for the last 10+ years, in the Salica line some are rated at 550hp. It's proven to be a very reliable engine in those applications.
