Mike, start splitting your clothes up in bags. Pack a little of everything in every bag, so when they lose one (because it's when, not if.. right?) you have clothes, to some degree.

I second this. I have a backpack that has a hidden compartment for a laptop. So my lappy goes in there and I use the "big" normal backpack compartments for a pair of slacks, undershirt, button down shirt and a set of undergarments.

Also helps if you buy a disposable toothbrush, paste (under 3oz) and small contact lense kit (if you have them)

That's saved me a few times just having to wait between long layovers.
