Apparently noticing stuff like this isn't normal because the gf immediately mentioned something about me being right on that line between smart/sane and serial killer.

Tell me I'm not the only one who will require 3 grocery store trips (in 4 hours) to prep for a bbq but can recite all 23 modal verbs in the exact order I first learned them in.
Yup...You forgot to mention the part about often not being able to sleep due to racing thoughts and/or working through technical issues in your sleep and actually sometimes waking up with the resolution front of mind.

..and as odd as it sounds - I can see wierd shit before it happens. Not like telling the future for anything important, more like - cause and effect type shit. Like deja vou type stuff. Yes, the 'matrix' makes a lot of sense to me!

Same here, I can recite ET's I ran back in the early 90's, changes I made to the car and what it did afterwards.

I make lists for everything. For example, when I go on my annual camping trip to Colorado, I make a list of what I need in the vehicle for the actual road trip, a list of food and groceries, a list of camping/fishing gear, a list of clothes, a first aid list, a toiletry list, a list of electronic items (ipod, camera, etc), a list of activites, and so on. It gets worse - I also make a list of all of the lists. It's the only way I can keep anything straight.
I have notes everywhere, for everything. If anyone else found them, no worries - they woudln't know WTF they are for.

Same here, motor sizes, gear ratios, cam lift and worst of all - if I see a number that converts to a fraction, I recognize it - example: .125 = 1/8, .0625 - 1/16 etc. I see that shit EVERYWHERE - undoubtedly comes from machine work.

Or that the same nut/bolt go back together upon reassembly?
Same here again. I can recall a certain bolt by the wear marks, scratches, color, style etc. I have certain bolts in my tool box that may have been there since who knows when, but I know where it came from and it was used for. It could be YEARS since I last touched that bolt, washer or nut - but I KNOW exactly what it came from.. but I can't remember family member birthdays.

I agree 10000000000%. The bad part, some 'intelligent people' - whether it be in math, life etc.. are extremely stupid in the rest of 'life'.

I memorize all kinds of obscure numbers and sometimes I say words or sentences backwards in my head just for amusement.

lmao @ Spenser. I see part numbers and line codes in everything. And I can remember my phone number and street address from when I was 7 years old.

I miss the time when I was completely innocent and oblivious to everything. Fuck, 1am. Time to go to bed. Should be an interesting night.

I'm an idiot savant with an alcohol problem. What may seem like odd or unique characteristics to you is actually quite common. I've never met a remotely intelligent person who did not have some eccentricities or idiosyncratic behavior. And I've met some people who are quite "normal" and abundant with common sense, but otherwise being quite prosaic.
