What does that have to do with anything? What I spend 90% of my time doing, isn't my fucking job. I was hired to sell, to be agressive, and to dominate. I was rocking right along, and a corporate takeover with one of the companies we rep has royally fucked everything up. I'm no longer doing the job I was hired to do, and it's become miserable.


FYI - 30%, That raise was 4 years overdue, and I'm STILL underpaid for the sales I do, and what the competing rep groups pay in this area.

Four years overdue or not the economy is shit. I am in an atmosphere where people lose their jobs frequently and it is generally me that is taking them, or moving them. I tend to be thankful for my job. I am in the minority when it comes to hearing complaints about pay or how their job sucks though.

I took a "raise" that is 10-15k less than what I was making last year with OT just for a title and a foot in the door. Shit happens, but you know what, Abdul and friends that are taking jobs overseas works more, less and doesn't bitch about it.

Obviously this doesn't apply to you specifically but it should change a perspective to an extent. IF it is THAT bad well then do what Dave said.

Do some research. Get some numbers together about competitors and approach management to discuss your worth. If their idea isnt on par with yours, then take the new job.
Being comfortable in your rut wont get you to the top.

If recent consists of the last 2-3 years, yes. Technically, I'm still sales. But I don't make shit for sales calls anymore, because I'm constantly having to put out fires and don't have time for sales. In fact, I just inherit.. err, was forced to pick up the west TX territory, along with my regular East TX territory, and all of DFW. There are lots of things being said about certain people picking up some slack, but I've heard the exact same shit from 6 fucking years now, and I know better. My counterpart is leaving to go to a competitor, and trying his damndest to drag me with him, and it would be for quite a bit more than I make now. It's the uncertainty that's keeping me from doing so, but I'm not certain what I want to do yet. I'm safe where I am, I know that. I've got seniority, and am an upcoming owner, though that fucking carrot that's been dangled doesn't seem to exist. I'm top 3 in the company as far as volume goes. But it sure would be nice to actually get out and fucking sell something again.
